Applicants should have a good working knowledge of systems management techniques and should preferably be qualified in a suitable branch of computer technology including the writing of programmes. While not essential, it is desirable that applicants should have experience in traffic engineering. The salary scale for this position ranges from $4776 to $7558 and the point of entry into the scale will be dependent on the qualifications and experience of the applicant. (b) ENGINEERING ASSISTANT (ELECTRONICS) Applicant should hold the New Zealand Certificate in Engineering or equivalent and preferably should be experienced in traffic engineering and electronics. The appointee will be expected to assist with the operation and maintenance of traffic signals and master control equipment and assist in area control system planning involving electronics, network analysis and computer technology. The salary scale for this position ranges from $4050 to $5306 and the point of entry into the scale will be dependent on qualifications and experience. (c) TECHNICAL ASSISTANT The appointee to this position will generally be engaged on work in connection with public enquiries, processing building permits and collecting information. Applicants, therefore, should have a good command of English with an ability to read plans and write letters. Experience in drawing and Traffic Engineering would be an advantage but is not essential. The salarv offered for this position ranges from $3083 to $3349 depending on qualifications and experience.
