CATTLE SALE AT TINWALD

A medium-sized yarding of prime and store cattle was offered at the first Tinwald cattle sale of the new year. In line with the recent increases in the cattle freezing schedule, prices were $lO to $l4 advanced on the last sale.

A feature of the store cattle section was a line of 24 15month Angus steers offered on account of G. McKeown, which realised $123. A Mayfield vendor received $ll2 for 18 Angus-Hereford-cross steers; $llB for 15 Angus steers, and $ll3 for nine Angus heifers.

Prime cattle prices were: Heavy steers, $175 to $202; medium steers, $l6O to 5173; light steers, $l4O to $157. with very small sorts down to $122. Heavy heifers, $l4B to $163; medium heifers, $l3O to $146; light heifers, $9B to $127. Heavy cows. $l5B to $178; medium cows, $l4O to $155; light cows, down to $124. A selection of vendor prices: F.
