Scrub-cutter killed
(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER, Jan. 18. A Fijian Indian was killed near Napier yesterday when struck by the blade of a scrub-cutting machine. He was Narend Chand, aged 20. whose parents. Mr and Mrs Paris Ram, live on Nausori Island, Fiji. He was one of four Fijian Indians on a four-month scrub-cutting contract on Aropaonui Station, about 25 miles north of Napier.
