BOY KILLED

<NZ Press Association» HASTINGS, Jan. 10. A Wairoa youth was killed at Wakarara, central Hawke’s Bay, yesterday when a horse he was riding bolted and ran under a wire clothesline. He was Michael Maurice Mclntosh, aged 15, of Haka Avenue,[ Wairoa.

Before the 10,000-ton Greek bulk carrier Argos sailed for Melbourne yesterday, the crew and the ship were blessed by the South Island Greek Orthodox Priest (the Rev. Constantine Lentakis, of Christchurch).

The ceremony, held in the ship’s wheelhouse before a small, temporary altar, was attended by most of the 23-man crew. The ship’s master, Captain Panagiotis Agelidis, of Piraeus, participated in the impressive service. Father Lentakis blessed all present, individually, including visitors of different faiths, then according to custom blessed various parts of the ship.
