Fire damages garage
A detached garage at 35 Mcßeath Avenue, Hoon Hay, was extensively damaged by fire last evening. An attempt was made to douse the flames with a garden hose, but when engines from the Sydenham and Central fire stations arrived the building was well alight. During the fire, the occupier. of the property, Mr M. F. Dennehy, collapsed. A St John ambulance was called but was not required, Mr Dennehy being treated by a doctor.
Firemen used one jet and two smaller hoses to put out the fire.
