$5 00 FOR “ACE”
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The young Australian professional, D. Maggs, won a cheque for $5OO by holing in one in the Caltex tournament at Paraparaumu yesterday. He scored his "ace” at the 140-yard sixteenth, playing a 6-iron. “The ball hit into the bank on the left and it just rolled down and went in," he said. It was his first hole-in-one in tournament golf. He had a round of 69, a 36-hole total lof 142, and was nine strokes I from the lead.
