University Vacancies UNIVERSITY OF CANTERBURY DIRECTOR OF STUDIES IN ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES THE Councils of the University of Canterbury and Lincoln College invite applications for the newly created position of Director of Studies in Environmental Sciences. The appointee will take up his position as soon as may be arranged. The appointee will have professorial status and will be a member of the Professorial Boards of the University of Canterbu'w and of Lincoln College. The two Professorial boards have established the University of Canterbury-Lincoln College Joint Centre for Environmental Sciences under the general supervision of a Joint Board of Studies in Environmental Sciences, of which the Director will be a member and through which he will be expected to co-ordinate teaching and research in environmental sciences using the resources and facilities of both the University of Canterbury and Lincoln College. It is not Intended that there will be a separate Department of Environmental Sciences, and for administrative purposes the Director will be located in a Department, whether at Canterbury or at Lincoln, to be determined in accordance with his special interests. At present, the salary for a Professor is within the range of $11,698 to $14,947 per annum.
