Parliament Feb. 14

(Nt. Frees Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 8. The tentative date for the opening of the 37th Parliament is February 14, the Prime Minister (Mr Kirk) told a press conference today. He also hoped that Parliamentary select committees would be meeting in the second or third week of January. He particularly wanted to see the committee on the Industrial Relations Bill sitting early next year as it was essential to obtain good Industrial laws as soon as possible. The Arbitration Court had lost a lot of its relevance to the industrial situation, and speedy progress was needed for the establishment of the Industrial Commission.
