TRUCE ON KASHMIR

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LAHORE, Dec. 8. India and Pakistan have finally settled their differences over a truce-line in disputed Kashmir. The two-month deadlock was broken at a meeting in Lahore between General Sam Manekshaw, of India, and Lieutenant - General Tikka Khan, of Pakistan. Senior military commanders will meet at Suchetgarh, in Pakistan, on December 11 to sign docu-

ments delineating the line of control. General Khan said that after the commanders’ meeting on Monday the agreement would be sent to the Indian and Pakistani Governments for ratification, and troop withdrawals might begin within 10 to 12 days. The agreement will clear the way for withdrawal of Indian and Pakistani troops from territory seized in the war of December. This was one of the main points of the Simla Agreement, signed between the Indian Prime Minister (Mrs Gandhi) and President Bhutto, of Pakistan, in July.
