TOP COW
A pedigree Friesian cow was top producer in New Zealand under group herd test in the 1971-72 season. She is the eight-year-old Hollydale Lorraine H.C., in the the herd of Mr R. R. Bielski, of Moutoa, Foxton. Hoilydale Lorraine produced 22,0531 b of milk and 12711 b of fat in 305 days at the high average test of 5.8 per cent. Hollydale Lorraine was bred by Mrs B. M. Laurence, of Inglewood. Sired by Hollydale S. P. Roger from Hollydale Lolita, she was bought by Mr Bielski for $650 in June, 1971, at Mrs D. F. Muller’s Glenmoor (Stratford) dispersal sale. Lorraine’s latest production performance raises her total production for six consecutive lactations to 101,3841 b milk and 48471 b fat — a seasonal average of just under 8081 b fat
