Sound trials
"The Press’’ Special Service INVERCARGILL. Archie's Pal and Shifnal King completed their preparations for the Tapanui meeting tomorrow with sound rather than spectacular final trials at Invercargill, where conditions were in favour of good times. Archie’s Pal covered three furlongs in 39 3-ssec, dashing over the opening furlong in 12 3-ssec. He was travelling easily all the ' Shifnal King which looks a picture, settled well for C. Ramage over a quiet half-mile in 52 l-ssec, the last three furlongs in 38 2-ssec.
