All Blacks “smeared”
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) MOSELEY. The New Zealand team manager, Mr E. L. Todd, yesterday complained of a “deliberate smear campaign” by the British press against the present AU Blacks. “Some of the stories that have been written about us
are just not true,” said the 54-year-old Wellington estate agent, after the tourists had suffered their third defeat, against Midland Counties. “Some of our young players are suffering from the smears, and it is going to take a lot of nursing to bring them through. People in New Zealand are reading this stuff and they are believing it. “I don’t mind the truth being told, but some of the stories I have seen this week in some sections of the press are very wrong. “The Murdoch dossier is now closed.”
