New radiators
Low-cost aluminium radiators made by a British firm will be a feature of a new British high-performance car which will be announced next year. The car will thus be the first in the world to use such a radiator. The radiator is bonded with an adhesive, and its advantages are lightweight, durability, and freedom from corrosion,
All the major British carmakers are known to be evaluating the new radiator, and a German firm has accepted it. The British company, Covrad, Ltd (a subsidiary of Associated Engineering, Ltd), will be making 2000 aluminium radiators a week by next April. This is more than one-fifth its present production of copper radiators.
