Pigeon race
One hundred and ninety-eight pigeons were entered in the “All-aged Stakes’* race held over 445 miles from Gisborne to Christchurch. The entries came from 80 lofts. Results were:— C. Clarkson. 1299.9 yards per minute, 1; J. Bond, 1299.7, 2; R. Ashcroft, 1299.4, 3; Mrs Salter, 1299, and 1298.1. 4 and 5; W. Ewart, 1297. 6; W. Walls, 1296.6, 7; D. O’Hare, 1294.2, 8; K.
