Record art deal
A painting by the Australian artist, Sidney Nolan, “Dog and Duck Hotel,” has been sold to the chairman of a British engineering group for an Australian record price of $60,000. Mr Alistair McAlpine bought the painting in Melbourne from a Sydney art collector, Mr Mervyn Horton. The work is reproduced on the menus of the Australian airline, QANTAS. —Melbourne, Dec. 4.
