Re-election not sought
(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, Dec. 5. The member of Parliament for Tasman (Mr W. E. Rowling) told an executive meeting of the Labour Party yesterday that he would not seek re-election as president. “I have held the position for three years, and I feel it is time that I stood down to let another man take over," he said. “Because of this, I had intended to stand down, but my elevation to Cabinet rank last week has now left me no choice.”
