Cup sweepstake The draw for the cash prizes in the first Auckland Cup Sweepstake will be made at the bonus bonds centre in Dunedin at 8.30 a.m. tomorrow, and the official prize-list will be published early the next week, said the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Highet) yesterday. It was hoped that the draw for the cash prizes in the second Auckland Cup Sweepstake might be possible before Christmas, but this would depend on how quickly the remaining tickets were sold, and whether the volume of Christmas mail caused delays in the return of butts from agents, said the Minister.— (P.A.) X-ray unit The Health Department’s mobile unit is working this week in Cathedral Square in front of the Chief Post Office. For the first time in Christchurch the emphasis is being placed on those aged over 40. A spokesman for the department said this was because chest abnormalities were more numerous in those aged over 40, and because older people were often reluctant to have an X-ray unless encouraged. On Monday 412 people attended the unit; yesterday there were 396. About half were people over the age of 40. The unit will be in the Square until Friday. Christmas party

The annual Christmas party for the 53 handicapped children at the Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society’s Avonside centre at Cowlishaw Street will be held in the afternoon on Decembers. Each child will receive a gift during the afternoon’s entertainment. Lottery draw
