Christmas parcels
About 500 parcels will be sent to the underprivileged, sick and lonely this December in the Christchurch Methodist Central Mission Christmas Appeal. On Christmas Day, a special dinner will be held at Friendship House for about 100 people who would otherwise spend the day alone. The distribution of parcels will begin on December 19. Food of all types, including Christmas cakes, puddings and sweets, and toys and toiletries are needed. Gifts of foodstuffs are also wanted for the Christmas dinner.
The Rev. W. E. Falkingham, the superintendent of the mission, thanked the public for their gifts of money, goods, and voluntary service. Gifts may be sent to the Christchurch Methodist Central Mission, 209 Cambridge Terrace, P.O. Box 1449.
