Recording a concert
Sir,—I was interested to see the advertisement today announcing the Record Room’s release shortly of a recording of the Town Hall opening concert. This was a
memorable occasion which those of us fortunate enough to attend will long remember. I was therefore disappointed to find, on inquiry, that only a part of the concert is to be on record. May I ask why the Christchurch Civic Orchestra and the Christchurch Harmonic Society Choir, whose items were surely worthy of inclusion, are not to be available, if this is, as stated, “the Christchurch Town Hall opening concert”?—Yours, DISAPPOINTED. October 2, 1972. [The Record Room has not replied to an invitation to comment on this letter.]
