Committal for trial

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 15. Wilson Hotere, aged 22, a labourer, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial on two charges arising from a disturbance in which a man suffered knife wounds. Hotere pleaded not guilty before Justices of the Peace in the Otahuhu Magistrate’s Court to charges of assaulting Malcolm Monte Hunia and of injuring him in circumstances that, if death had been caused, he would have been guilty of manslaughter. The Court was told the charges arose from an incident at a social at the East Tamaki Rugby Football Club’s rooms on September 29.
