A young girl drowned in the Estuary at Redcliffs yesterday afternoon—the third child to die in the water in Christchurch in nine days. The child who died yesterday was Tania Kathleen Goody, aged four, of Beachville Road, Redcliffs. The child apparently wandered from her home into the water, where a strong incoming tide was running. She was taken from the water on a surfboard by Mr B. P. M. Kerr, of 43 Beachville Road, who had been working nearby. A St John ambulance took the girl to Christchurch Hospital. where she was found to be dead on arrival.
