TV policy criticised

(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, November 7. Criticism of the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation for televising the opening campaign addresses of some political parties but not that of the New Democrats was made by the party’s deputy leader, Mr T. Weal, in Rotorua last night. Mr Weal said telegrams had been sent to the N.Z.B.C. in protest. A telegram had also been sent to the Prime Minister (Mr Marshall). His reply was to the effect that the question was one for the N.Z.B.C. to determine and was one on which he could bring no influence to bear. Mr Weal said he had also complained to the Ombudsman, who had replied that the question was outside his jurisdiction.
