Heart doctor to visit
One of America’s leading heart physicians, Dr Richard Gorlin, will be in Christchurch later this month during a lecture tour of the major medical centres as the 1972 Sir James Wattie visiting professor. Dr Gorlin is associate professor of medicine at the Harvard Medical School and chief of the cardio-vascular division of the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Both in America and abroad he has served on numerous professional organisations and has been the sole or associate author of some 200 research and clinical treatises and more than 160 abstracts for advanced medical and scientific publications. Dr Gorlin will be accompanied by his wife.
