SUPREME COURT Charge of rape
The trial of William Ernest Blake, aged 38, a taxi driver, on a charge of rape of a woman, aged 39, on August 24, began in the Supreme Court yesterday before Mr Justice Haslam and a jury. Mr A. D. Holland, who appears for the Crown, is calling eight witnesses. Messrs J. G. Leggat and I. J. D. Hall appear for Blake who has pleaded not guilty to the charge. The trial will finish today.
