N. Pilic (Jugoslavia) knocked out T. Anderson (Australia), 6-7, 6-1, 6-4, and H. Rahim (Pakistan) beat F. Paia (Czechoslovakia), 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. In the second round, J. McManus (United States) beat O. Parun (New Zealand), 6-1, 6-2.
