Ward system ignorance’

The Women’s Civic Association believes that most Christchurch people are uninformed about the ward voting system. Mrs G. H. Morrisey, president of the association, said: “It seems obvious that the technicalities of the system—particularly if facilitated by computerisation — would involve increased expense. Projects for Marylands.— About $lOO was raised for the Marylands home by the schools’ project competition at Phillipstown School on Friday and Saturday. More than 300 entries from 37 primary and intermediate schools in Christchurch were displayed.
