Death after collision
(N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI, Nov. 6. A member of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, serving in Christchurch, died on the way to hospital after a head-on collision at Towai, about 18 miles north of Whangarei, on Friday evening. He was Donald Graham Herbert, aged 27. Mr Herbert’s wife, Denise, was admitted to Whangarei Hospital, where her condition is satisfactory. Their daughter, Frynette, aged five months and a half, was taken to Kawakawa Hospital, but later was transferred to Whangarei Hospital. Her condition is reported as “quite well.”
