QUIET TRADING ON EASIER N.Z. SHAREMARKET
Trading was quiet and the market easier on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. Price changes were few and falls were more numerous than rises. The building and allied group was firm but over all the leaders were easier.
Arnold and Wright. Neil Holdings, Vibrapac Blocks, and Winstone showed rises of one or two cents. Brierley shares and rights rose in response to buying interest after the profit report. The shares were 10c higher at 410 c and the rights rose 5c to 200 c. Associated Motels rose another 2c to 70c, making a gain of 5c in the last week. Progressive recovered 5c of Friday’s sharp fall to trade at 250 c.
A. B. Consolidated was traded on high volume again but the price was steady at 51c and the quotations eased. Falls of 5c were shown by Alex Harvey, Midland, N.Z. Motor Bodies, and W. Sutherland. S.F.M. fell 4c to 190 c and Waitaki rights lost 8c at 22c. Property Securities was! down 10c at 460 c. Only 100 shares were traded in Christchurch and Wellington, but I a seller at 470 c remained on the Christchurch board. RISES New Zealand
i The sale of capital life j scrip at 100 c reported by 'Auckland on Friday appears to have been an error because they were traded at 92c yesterday.
