DEATH OF OFFICIAL A former All Black
A former All Black fullback, Mr Thomas Robert Dobson Webster, died in Christchurch yesterday, aged 51. Mr Webster was captain of Southland when he was chosen in the 1947 All Black team which played nine matches in Australia and one match in New Zealand (against Auckland) on its return. j Although he played in only • three matches m Australia—- • the No. 1 full-back was R. 'W. H. Scott—Mr Webster (finished the tour as the • second highest scorer, with 38 points. He also played in (the match against Auckland. I The Hornby delegate on I the Canterbury Rugby 'Union’s management commitjtee for the last two years. Mr Webster is survived tn ' his wife and three sons.
