‘Arctic exploitation'
Iceland and Norway have called for international treaties to protect polar bears and other Arctic wildlife. A draft resolution submitted to the United Nations Genera! Assembly’s Economic and Finance Committee notes that “a number of wildlife species inhabiting the Arctic and adjacent areas is now threatened with extinction for a variety of reasons, including over-exploitation, by man.”—New York, November 5.
