ONE-SIDED
B. G. Stockwell did more than just win the Dulux six-day race on Saturday. He dominated it as no other rider has done before, by the margin he finished ahead of his nearest rivaL Stockwell was lOmin 27sec in front of V. J. Hanaray. In the history of the race, which started in 1960, the previous greatest winning margin was the
7min 9sec by which L. J. Byers beat R. D. Thomson in 1962. The next year, Byers won by 6min 4sec, and the next greatest margin was by the last Canterbury winner, T. J. Tabak. He won by 4min 4sec in 1967. The most slender win was by D. R. Thomson — 18sec ahead of M. Powell in 1965. Last year. Hanaray won by only 23sec.
