Quick work by police
(From Our Own Reporter) NELSON, Nov. 5. A safe containing a large number of negotiable postal warrants was recovered by the Nelson police within a few hours of its theft from the Department of Social Welfare, in Nelson on Saturday. , L The thieves entered the Social Welfare Department through the offices of another Government department in the same building between 5 p.m. on Friday and 5 a.m. on Saturday. Inquiries made by Detective W. J. G. Carr, and Constable C. R. Barron ,of the C. 1.8., sent the police to a house in Mount Street, Nelson. The safe, opened, but with its contents intact was found in the house.
