GENERAL KILLED

A Cambodian general who often led his troops into battle against Communist forces was killed in a car accident yesterday afternoon, four miles north of Phnom Penh. Members of his household said today that Brigadier General Un Savuth was killed when the car overturned as he was speeding to command a Government column trying to reopen Highway 5, 35 miles north of the capital Last November, when Government forces suffered a crushing defeat in an operation to clear Highway 6, General Savuth was quoted as saying he wished to be buried at Kampong Tmar, a village 65 miles north of Phnom Penh, rather than abandon his soldiers, as Khmer senior officers often do in tight situations.
