A drive to enrol members throughout the country is being made by the New Zealand Trotting Hall of Fame Society, which intends opening its museum at Alexandra Park towards the end of next month. The museum will be housed in the old Derby totalisator house, alterations to which are near completion. The society is at present raising funds for the *17,000 project, and is well on the way towards its goal. The president of the society (Mr R Lewis, of Auckland), and Trotting Conference and club officials throughout New Zealand are assisting in the drive for new members, and many clubs have made donations. The Metropolitan Club has given *lOO, and the Canterbury Park and New Brighton clubs have given *5O each. The Ashburton club also gave *lOO. The society is raffling two stallion services donated by Sir Henry Kelliher the patron of the organisation. A buy-a-brlck scheme Is also proposed, donors at a minimum of *lO a brick having their names glazed in the structure of the building at Alexandra Park.
