Manawatu net 10 p.c. higher
(N.Z. Press Association) The unaudited net profit of Manawatu Knitting Mills, Ltd, rose by $6179, or 10.2 per cent to $66,422 in the year to October 19, the directors say in a preliminary report. The provision for tax is $7980 lower at $50,230. No provision for depreciation is given. The result is from record turnover, the directors say. Interest and expenses in connection with the bonus issue of unsecured convertible notes made on December 20 amounted to $4985. A final dividend of 3.5 c a share (7 per cent) is recommended, making a steady 12 per cent for the year.
