TV OFFER REFUSED

(N.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS, November 3. The Prime Minister (Mr Marshall) has “declined with thanks” the offer of additional television time by the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation. The corporation offered to give another eight minutes on its central and southern channels about 10 p.m. on Monday, to compensate for the distorted transmission of his opening campaign meeting. Mr Marshall said in a statement tonight: “I appreciate the concern of the N.Z.8.C., but while I am disappointed that the original telecast was only partially successful, I accept the position and the explanation of the N.Z.B.C. I have to take the bad with the good and I will leave it at that.”
