Medical grants
, Two members of the Christchurch Clinical School staff are among the 13 reci pients of medical grants totalling $73,537 from the Golden Kiwi lottery, announced yesterday. Professor A. R. McGiven, of the department of pathology, has been granted $14,400 for equipment for research in kidney disease, and Dr C. U. Mcßae, of the department of I surgery, has been granted , $BOOO for equipment to study urinary disorders.
Soccar.—Tbe Netherlands beat Norway, 8-0. scoring eight times in the second half, in a group three World Cup soccer qualife ing match at Rotterdam.
Appointment.—The former All Black lock. Mr I. N Macewan, of Wellington, has been appointed public relations officer of Palmerston North. He takes up his new position on January 15.
