(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright)
WASHINGTON, Nov. 2.
President Nixon has signed the international convention aimed at combating air piracy, and has said that his Administration will tighten controls on the visa applications of suspected terrorists. Mr Nixon signed the ratification of the Montreal convention approved by the Senate on October 3. It requires the extradition, or prosecution, of persons involved in sabotage and violence against international civil aviation.
At the same time, Mr Nixon issued a statement saying that his Cabinet committee on terrorism had appointed a series of working groups “to ensure Govem-ment-wide co-operation in the sharing of intelligence, and to provide a co-ordinated response to any terrorist attack.”
