More State housing
(N.Z. Press Association)
HAMILTON, Nov. 2
An additional 60 State rental housing units had been authorised by the Government, said the Minister of Housing (Mr Holland) in Hamilton today. This would bring the building programme for the current financial year to 910, said Mr Holland. The increase in the programme was the result of a reassessment of the State housing situation after six months. The additional units would be built in areas where there was the greatest need and demand. and where developed sites were available and the building industry had the necessary capacity.
