Values held at Tinwald
There was a good average yarding of prime sheep at the Tinwald sale this week. Spring lambs, hoggets and ewes held their values of last weeks good rates, while four-tooth ewes rose by $1.50. A smaller yarding of store sheep met a keen demand, maintaining recent rates. Prices: — Spring lambs.—Best, to $8.75; good, $8 to $8.50. Shorn hoggets.—Best, to $10.70; good, $lO to $10.40; medium, $9 to $9.70; light, from $7.30. Shorn four-tooth ewes.—Best, to $9; good, $8 to $8.50; medium, $7 to $7.80; light, from $6. Woolly ewes. —Best. $7.50 to $7.90; light to medium, $6.10 to $6.80. Best butchers ewes, $5.50 to $5.80; good, $5.20 to $5.50; light to medium, from $4.80. Store sheep.—l4l good Downcross lambs, $6.75; 99 medium Down-cross lambs, $5.80; shorn feed ewes, $3.80 to $3.90; 140 three-shear ewes, shorn, $7.40; 96 A.D. ewes, light, late shorn, $4; woolly ewes with Down-cross lambs at foot, $6.40; woolly fouryear Romney ewes with Romney lambs at foot. $6.65.
