Obituary MISS G. K. JARMAN
Miss Grace Kathleen Jarman, who died in Christchurch recently, was a teacher in the Canterbury Education Board’s district for many years. When she retired, she was senior mistress at the Woolston School. Miss Jarman was an active member of the Women Teachers’ Association, having been Dominion secretary for a number of years. After her retirement, she worked for the Christchurch Horticultural Society in the office of the late Mr P. C. Browne, who was then the secretary.
An untiring worker for the Straven branch of the National Party, Miss Jarman was also an active member for many years of the Christchurch Citizens’ Association. Another of her interests was the Christchurch branch of the Dickens Fellowship, of which she was a member for many years, and secretary from 1938 to 1945. Miss Jarman was also a member of the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society, and of the Christchurch Native Flora Society. Miss Jarman is survived by two sisters.
