Alliance sales
overseas a record Alliance Textiles (N.Z.), Ltd, has exported products worth more than slm in a financial year for the first time. The managing director (Mr B. A. R. Spence), said that slm of export sales had been achieved by September 19, about a month before the end of the financial year. The company is exporting carpet yarns and furnishing i fabrics to South-East Asia, and Australia, blankets and rugs to the United States | and South-East Asia, and wool tops to Japan. Referring to the Australian market, Mr Spence said that carpet yams had to be included under Schedule A of I the N.A.F.T.A. Free Trade , Agreement if they were to I remain competitive.
