Safe blown open
A safe was blown open and money, believed to be no more than about $6O, was stolen at the State Coal Depot’s bulk yard at 50 Falsgrave Street last evening. The blast blew the backing off the safe door and shattered concrete in which the safe was set. A concrete block, apparently used to absorb the shock, was also shattered. The break was found at 11.30 p.m. by a security man who had checked the premises at 7.30 p.m.
