CANOE RACE
About 100 entries are expected for a canoe race on the Avon River this Saturday, starting at the Town Hali and finishing at the New Brighton bridge. The race, which will start at 1 p.m., has been arranged by the Christchurch Canoe Club and is likely to become an annual event. New Brighton businessment have provided prizes.
