30 dead in train crash

ISTANBUL, Nov. 1.
At least 30 people were killed yesterday when a passenger-train collided headon with a goods train near the west Turkish city of Eskisehir, and some of the carriages burst into flames. Dozens of people were seriously injured. A burning diesel-fuel tank set fire to the carriages, which quickly resembled “a scene out of hell,” according to a Turkish reporter. Eskisehir is midway between Ankara and Istanbul.
