Cheese from ‘Mickey’
r.V.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, . October 31. A piece of cheese was thrown at the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Kirk) during his election address in Palmerston North tonight And supporters of “Mickey Mouse” who ran down the aisle to make the gesture chanted “free cheese” as he did so. “Mickey” was one of a group of about 20 sitting towards the back of the hall. Wearing a bright football jersey, psychedelic Jeans and gumboots, he suddenly ran down the aisle and threw the cheese in Mr Kirk’s direction.
Mr Kirk appeared little concerned.
