League switch denied
(N.Z. Press Association! AUCKLAND.
The All Black three-quar-ters, K. R. Carrington, last evening denied a Sydney report that he would travel to Australia in January for a trial with the Parramatta Rugby league club. The Parramatta secretary, Mr R. Jones, told the Press Association’s special correspondent in Sydney that Carrington would play with the club in pre-season fixtures early next year, with a view
to joining the club for the remainder of the season. If Carrington displayed his All Black form, said Mr Jones, he could expect the maximum $2OOO signing-on fee and $2OO match payments. “They did approach me,” Carrington said, “but I am definitely not going. I will be staying in Auckland.” Carrington, who played in the first, third and fourth tests against the British Lions last year, was omitted for the All Black tour to Britain.
