Fight to live in Australia

A Fijian-born Indian who was ordered out of Australia after his six-month-old marriage had been ruled a marriage of convenience, said before leaving the country yesterday that he believed his wife was somewhere in New Zealand.
Mr Aiyappan Sammi Kuchappan, aged 46, a fitter and turner, faced deportation, but chose to pay his own way back to Suva ahead of the Immigration Department’s deadline. He was ordered out of the country when he could not produce his wife, as required by the Department. Mr Kuchappan told reporters that the marriage had simply not worked out, but that he had tried to find his wife so that he could remain in Australia. He added that [he would continue from Fiji 'his fight to live in Australia.
