Drivers fined

AUCKLAND.
I. M. Behrns was fined $5O after an inquiry into the breaking of Double Cash about a furlong from the finish of the F. J. Smith Memorial at Alexandra Park on Wednesday evening. It was found that Hundred Pipers, driven by Behrns, had shifted ground when not sufficiently clear. This resulted In Double Cash suffering a check from Black Watch, and going Into a break.
Behrns was charged with careless driving. R. Mitchell, junior, the driver of Heroic in the Wairakei Handicap, was fined $5O for causing a check to SomecMfy, driven by Behrns. about six furlongs from the finish
An objection against Heroic holding third place on the ground of galloping near the finish was dismissed.
