WALL STREET LAST WEEK
Peace hopes move market Share prices on Wall Street moved up and down with Vietnam peace reports last week, but most of the activity was in special situation issues. Although reports of progress toward a cease-fire in Indo-China were denied by the Viet Cong earlier in the week, analysts said investors appeared hopeful but were waiting for further develop, meats. In the meantime, special situations attracted most of the attention. For most of the week prices were well maintained at the recent higher level of 950 on the Dow Jones index, in heavy trading. But on Friday investors moved to the sidelines while awaiting a signal from Hanoi on resumption of peace talks with the Presidential Aide (Dr H. Kissinger), and the Dow Jones average closed down 4.14 to 946.42, with falls leading rises by nearly seven to six.
